The Easiest Homemade Soft Pretzels Recipe

Soft Pretzels are easy to make, and bake to fluffy, chewy perfection! This recipe includes a baking soda bath and variations for sweet or savory pretzels - plus dip ideas.

LET'S BAKE!

Step 1: Make the Dough. Whisk together butter, yeast, sugar and warm milk. Stir in flour and salt for a shaggy dough.

Step 2: Knead and Rise. Knead dough smooth. Place in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let rise for 1 hour.

Step 3: Divide Dough and Shape the Pretzels. After rising. slice the pretzel dough into 12 equal sized pieces. 

Roll each section into a long rope shape. Lay the rope in a large "U" shape, and cross the ends over each other twice.

Bring the twisted part back down over the curve of the "U" and TA-DA! You have a classic pretzel twist. Repeat.
