Homemade  Strawberry  Shortcakes


Flaky & tender biscuits filled w/ juicy strawberries & vanilla whipped cream!

Step 1: Slice strawberries & toss w/ sugar, vanilla, & strawberry jam. Set aside to release juices.

Step 2: Whisk together dry ingredients, then cut in butter & stir in buttermilk for the biscuit dough. 

Step 3: Fold the dough over on itself in thirds, then pat back out. This creates flaky layers in the biscuits!

Step 4: Cut 3-inch biscuits & place in a buttered skillet. Brush with cream. 

Step 5: Bake biscuits until golden brown and flaky.
