Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup + 2 tbsp salted butter 198 grams
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 1/2 cups mini marshmallows 234 grams
  • 4 1/2 cups rice krispie cereal

Instructions

  • Prep: Line a 9x9 pan with parchment paper or spray with nonstick spray.
  • Make the Treats: In a nonstick pot or pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Turn the heat to medium-low and continue cooking the butter - stirring the whole time. The butter will get foamy, then turn golden, then start to turn brown and develop a nutty sort of aroma. Continue stirring constantly - scraping any little brown bits off the bottom of the pan.
Once it reaches a dark brown color, remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and salt, then add the marshmallows. Stir quickly to melt the marshmallows and combine them with the butter. Add the rice krispies and stir.
Press the mixture into the pan and allow to cool!
  • Serve & Store: Let cool about 30 minutes before slicing and serving. I like them when they're still a little gooey! Store in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days - not in the refrigerator.
