Perfect 8-Inch Vanilla Cake

w/ Brown Butter Frosting!

8-Inch Cake has 3 tender & fluffy vanilla cake layers frosted with a luscious brown butter cream cheese frosting. Add any fillings you like or swap in a chocolate frosting to customize this easy cake recipe!

Step 1: Mix Wet Ingredients. Combine butter, sugar, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla.

Step 2: Add Dry Ingredients. Whisk, then add the  flour mix and milk to wet ingredients.

Step 3: Bake! Divide the batter between 3 prepared pans. Bake 24-28 minutes at 350° F.

Step 4: Make the Frosting. Brown and cool butter. Combine all remaining ingredients.

Step 5: Frost the Cake. Top 1st cake with frosting, stack on a 2nd cake, chill, and repeat.

Keep chilling the cake between layering. Then crumb coat and frost the outside of the cake.
