Inside the Book
Baking Basics – Here I share some of my essential tips and tricks to ensure the best baking success for you!
Chapter 1 – Cookies For All Occasions – This chapter includes twists on the classics like Brown Butter Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Two Outrageously Huge Chocolate Chip Cookies. We’ve also got fun, modern flavors like Key Lime Slice & Bake Cookies, Peanut Butter & Jelly Thumbprint Cookies, and Black Forest Cookies!
Chapter 2 – Blondies, Brownies, and Bars – Bar cookies are some of the easiest to throw together, but the recipes in this chapter are still sure to impress! Gooey S’mores Brownies are the perfect summertime treat, Cinnamon Streusel Apple Butter Bars disappear in no time anywhere you take them, and Snickerdoodle Blondies are the perfect anytime treat!
Chapter 3 – Celebratory Cakes and Pies – The cakes and pies in this chapter are simple without sacrificing on flavor or wow factor! Whip up a rich Salted Chocolate Peanut Butter Tart for a fancy restaurant-style dessert you can make at home, dive into a pile of Caramel Pear Hand Pies on a crisp fall afternoon, and enjoy the Butterbeer Cupcakes anytime you feel like celebrating!
Chapter 4 – Crisps, Cobblers, and a Pandowdy – This is for all you fruit-dessert lovers! The Blueberry Cobbler and Bourbon Cherry Crisp make the perfect small-serving desserts for a date night at home. My Double Chocolate Cobbler (cover recipe) is a breeze to whip up and tastes like a giant chocolate lava cake in a pan! And, the Pear, Cranberry, and Apple Crisp is a wonderful alternative to a pie for Thanksgiving.
Chapter 5 – Breakfast and Brunch Bites – Satisfy your morning sweet tooth with these treats! There’s a tall coffee cake with a raspberry jam ripple through the center, and a pile of cinnamon streusel on top. The Monkey Bread Muffins are made with a pillowy soft overnight brioche dough and are dripping in salted caramel sauce! And, I’ve even taken things that are a little more advanced, like Maple Cinnamon Biscuits and Zingy Cherry Pop Tarts, and broken them down into approachable recipes that still don’t create a pile of dishes!
Chapter 6 – Savory Bakes – This chapter has you covered for all your savory cravings! There’s a gorgeous Heirloom Tomato Galette with Asiago & Gouda, and it’s wrapped up in an easy-to-make buttery, flaky homemade pie crust. We’re making Soft Pretzels from scratch – it’s easier than you’d think – and a twist on a classic beer bread – my version has Bacon, Gruyere, and Cheddar cheese! Pro tip – the leftovers make the most insane grilled cheese sandwiches.
Chapter 7 – Finishing Touches – These are those little magic elixirs that take a recipe from great to fabulous! This chapter has recipes like a silky 10-Minute Salted Caramel Sauce, an Infinitely Adaptable Glaze that can be easily tweaked to make a mountain of flavors to top all sorts of treats, and my Creamy Vanilla Frosting Base (that has a secret ingredient!), which serves as the base for all sorts of delicious frosting flavors.
