5-Minute Smoothie Bowl, you are the best. You’re the perfect fast breakfast, healthy snack, or even a refreshing summer treat!

Correction – you’re especially perfect as a refreshing summer treat!

Maybe you already know this, but I really like my breakfast smoothies! See these smoothie recipes for evidence of that. I also really like when I can make my breakfast in 5 minutes – see this yogurt parfait recipe for evidence of that!

I usually don’t want to spend a lot of time on breakfast, and I usually don’t have much time to spend making breakfast anyways.

That’s pretty much why I love this 5-minute smoothie bowl – it’s FAST.

5-Minute Smoothie Bowl

This one is especially amazing because it’s made with only 6 ingredients (not counting water and ice cubes, of course!) We got some frozen blueberries and frozen raspberries in here, some frozen banana, a little water and ice, and a dollop of honey.

I topped mine off with some chia seeds and some kiwi and banana slices.

So good!! It also looks super fancy even though you only spent 5 minutes making it.

I’d call that a win!

5-Minute Smoothie Bowl

You can totally customize this smoothie bowl to whatever you have on hand or to whatever your smoothie-preferences are! Any type of frozen fruit would be yummy!

I do recommend adding some frozen banana regardless of what other ingredients you use, because it helps to make the smoothie nice and creamy.

Have a favorite protein powder? Add that! Like to add flax seed to your smoothies? Go for it.

5-Minute Smoothie Bowl

The point is – you can make this your own! And, if you really need to run out the door, this smoothie bowl can become a to-go breakfast in the blink of an eye!

Simply pour the smoothie into your travel cup instead of a bowl.

5-Minute Smoothie Bowl

Kind of like my summer strawberry feta salad, I have this smoothie bowl on repeat all summer long! It’s cool, refreshing and easy – and doesn’t require an oven! Perfect way to beat the heat – and it’s kind of like eating a healthy bowl of ice cream.

Yum!

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup frozen blueberries
  • 2/3 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 frozen banana, cut into pieces
  • 1 tbsp honey, agave, or maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 3 ice cubes
  • 1/2 fresh banana, sliced
  • 1 kiwi, sliced
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

Instructions

  • Make: Add the frozen blueberries, frozen raspberries, frozen banana, ice cubes, water, and honey to a high-powered blender. Blend, stopping to scrape the sides of the blender as needed. Add a little more water too, if the mixture isn't blending together smoothly.
  • Assemble: Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with the sliced banana, sliced kiwi, and chia seeds. Enjoy immediately!

Notes

NOTE:ย I always keep frozen bananas in my freezer for smoothies (along with my large stash of frozen fruit). To freeze bananas, just peel them, cut them into large chunks, and seal in a ziploc bag or freezer-safe tupperware container.ย
